Man what a day.

First the shiat with the foil man, then I get home to find that my boy's dog Jake escaped and killed my 88 year old neighbor's dog. Did I mention that we just moved in two months ago? We had to destroy the dog. He was the black n tan in the photo's I've posted.

Then I got busy in the garage to take my mind off it:

Sill Protectors/sliders and shock remounts/spacers:

last one:

I bolted a shock mount on top of the spacer using the spacer bolts. Gives back the droop.

Sorry to hear that man...That's sucks ass big time. I had a male rottie that was the alpha of the litter...Well he was a handful, but I could handle him...NO ONE ELSE. Then I met my wife, and good ol' Dallas had to become #3 dog. Well he didn't like that and eventually bit my wife in the face...MAJOR trauma. Fortunately the bit was two puncture wounds that you cant' even see now....

The bottom line was I had to take my companion on the looooong ride to the vet's office, and had him put down. It was the BEST thing, but it still hurt like a bitch.

Anyway, sill's look great! Good work man...RR rock-sliders look like a bieatch to fab and install.

Thanks for ALL of your kind words.

Here are the details of the sliders. I combined Sam's numerous peoples ideas to com up with a rather simple idea. I would recommend this solution, as the build took only about 4 hours for the sliders themselves. They ARE a sill slider, not for "upper helldorado" but I think they will be fine for most anything I see.

If anyone wants details on the build of these let me know... VERY EASY

Damn RedRangie...I just noticed your avitar change...What a fawking drag.

There is NOTHING like loosing a true companion as the result of circumstance...I put down Dallas about 6 years ago, and when I hear a story like yours it all comes back.

Loyalty is a major thing to me...And typically only a dog (aka. true friend and companion) will give so much while asking so little.

Hang in there man...

:(

im sorry to hear that, i fear that i may have to put down my first dog soon too. she is getting very, very old and suffers from severe arthritis and has very little control of her bladder. i just dont think she enjoys life anymore. it will truly be a sad day and i hope to awake one day to find that she has passed peacefully and painlessly during the night while sleeping.

be sure to tell your son that it was best for the dog, because he would have just been taken to the pound otherwise, and then put down without his family around to comfort him.

Adam,
I presume you meant painLESSly not painFULLy....

RedRangie,
Sorry to hear about your dog. I used to have two healers, a blue and a red, that ran amok and had to be put down. They were extremely loyal dogs and I can still remember chaining their excited asses in the back of the ute to take them away, they thought we were going bush....

Condolences

Daryl.

 thanks for the catch "mate" :D

i have a blue heeler/border collie mix now that is the best damn dog ive ever had or met. they truly are a great breed. he is a little crazy though too but i have him under control for the most part. you just have to know when he gets into his "moods". typically from 6:30-7:30am, and from 4-6pm every day.

he was EXTREMELY well behaved, except when it came to LITTLE yappy dogs.

When I had to turn him over last night, he obeyed his hand signals and at the command of TRUCK, he jumped into the cage in the van and laid down.

Sorry to hear about your dog, man...:(

My best friend is a 4-year old Blue Heeler named Max, best dog I've ever had. He's a faithful, unquestioning companion and his companionship through tough times has been invaluable. I don't even want to think about when it's time to put him down...:( :(

Fawkin' yappy little dogs, they're useless...

Terrible news about your dog, a sad day indeed.

My Ridgeback has a thing for Malamutes which has landed him in trouble before, we've worked hard on training him but you have to keep an eye on him. Fortunately he's immune to small yappy dogs.

Remember Jake, and get another dog some day not too far away.
