Many people that do this type of thing run a 2wd trans and a divorced transfercase. What are you building?

not trying to steal ur thread but i have a simular problem. i have a 4 cylider perkins that i want to put in a scout 80 but i cant seem to find a "short enough" tranny/t-case option. the tranny out of a deuce and a half will work, its a spicer 5 speed od. but the problem is the t-case has to be divorced and i wont have enough room to put a divorced t-case in the scout unless i find a small one. i will either have to find a short t-case for it or i will need to find another tranny/t-case option. any ideas?
thanks,mike

someone on another site told me that you could convert the stock/married twin stick t-case off a scout to a divorced t-case but im not too sure of that..

What model of engine is it? 6-354 (T?) T for Turbo, Duuuugh!
or 1006T (phaser series)? both of these came with some sort of GM bell housing adapters to bolt up a GM tranny to! The 6-354 model is 354 cubic inches and 4-236 which share the same front and rear block configuration with 2 less cylinders.
The Phaser series is a newer configueration and I have seen all of these engines in pickups and cars!
I have even repowered a couple of chevy pickups in the early 80's to the 6-354 engines! Not much Horse Power, but Tons of torque!
