Ok so about 3 months ago I was on my way back from a pick and pull in PA in my 98 windstar, well with about 40 miles left to go I went to pass a car and when I gave it throttle it acted like it was in neutral.

So I pulled over and tried every gear, NOTHING

I checked the fluid, full and perfect, not burnt at all.

Long story short I had the fucking thing towed to the tune of $300


I FINALLY got a chance to pull the trans today and upon pulling the torque converter I found the splined part that is SUPPOSED to drive the pumps shaft is completley stripped out. NO SPLINES WHAT SO EVER!!

Its smooth as a babys ass in there and yet the splines on the shaft its self are perfect.

I am assuming its a flaw in the metal the splines in the converter its self but I could be wrong.

So now it needs a new converter.........................

I'll post up pics tomorrow, you wont believe how many splines are not there!!!

I made alot of money on Windstar's back in the day...those 3.8L's put food in mah belly.

At least it came in all wheel drive and a few have been built up for mild trial rigs. But come on a fawking Windstar:shaking: Yup thats me the online bully.

You know it would be kinda cool to build a frame that you could bolt the windstars body too and then throw in a 302 along with a 5 speed manual.

But thats WAYYY too much work for not much gain lol
