: 97 mustang 3.8 pats system

Ok i've search I have 97 mastang 3.8 motor i want to swap in to a buggy. what can i do with the pats system? what modulers do i need to keep? Is there anyone who makes harness for the motor alone? any info

It seems to me that the remote start / alarm companies make modules to bypass the pats system for remote start. Start looking into add-ons for alarms and you'll probably find one.

I don't know of anyway to take pats out of the computer since it's software based. But perhaps some of the Super tuners or chips can disable it somehow, I really don't know.
I'm not sure how the remote start by pass things work either, you'll have to look into it. If they just splice into the bus lines (pins 15-16) Then it'd be super easy to hook up. But I'm guessing they probably just take the place of the transceiver module. If that's the case you'll have 2 add those 2 modules to your harness.
If painless doesn't make your harness I don't know who would. Personally I'd just build my own. It's more like just hacking the stuff you don't need out of the factory one anyway. Just take your time and do it right. Say no to butt connectors! Solder is your friend.
