: Got pulled over on my way to the con.
StinkBug 09-12-2002, 11:34 AM I was driving my rig up the 395 on my way to Belly Draggers place in Carson City, and as i was goin thru Bishop when i saw a cop turn from a side street right behind me. He was followin me for a few blocks, and i was thinkin "aw shit hes gonna see the expired tag and pull my ass over for sure" (i paid the reg, but haven't smogged yet, tags are a month out.) Sure enough at the edge of town the lights come on, and i pull over nicely. He walks up to my window and i gave him a friendly greeting, awaiting the ticket. Then he says "I noticed you dont have a front lisence plate....." (i think for a second and wonder how he noticed that and not the expired tag) then he says "......but i'm really just usin that as an excuse to check out your truck." The guy was totally cool. Started askin me what it was, what was in it, what i pulled the parts from. Said he had a mitsu pickup with a 350, 420, atlas and SAS. I wish i had gotten his name but i was so surprised that i didn't check his name tag. after that he told me to have a nice day and walked back to his cruiser, and i busted up laughin. Jeane just looked at me with a "what the fuck?" expression on her face. I guess there are some cool cops out there still.

Keith 09-12-2002, 03:00 PM I got pulled over in Bishop a few years back. I was heading to Susanville from S.D. and was doing 90 in the 45mph section of Bishop just south of town. CHP going the other way cranks a U-turn and pulls me over. Makes me get out of the car (67 Mustang Fastback), takes me to the front, and says, "You got a headlamp out!". Tosses me a fixit ticket and I am on my way. Must be the air there???????:D

4runner 09-12-2002, 03:08 PM Got stopped for 101 in a 55 zone, had to go to court...
The judge looked at pix of my truck and asks if it will really go that fast...I show him a pic of the 4 banger....
then point out that the cop wrote someone elses name and DL # on my ticket and he dismissed the case....LOL

With the high gear third right? Not the one you used to do the burnouts in the Intergraph parking lot ..... :flipoff2:
Bob Williams 09-12-2002, 03:18 PM Every time I get pulled over, I always get a ticket, and I pay:(
Once though, I thougth I was going to get pulled over, but didn't. I had my rear license plate covered with my spare tire, I was speeding, and there were a lot of other "modifications" I could have gotten a ticket for. The motorcycle officer followed me for about a mile. It was dark, and I could only see the outline of his bike, but not what he was doing. I was sure he was calling in for info on my truck (from what he could see of the rear plate I guess). He then pulls into the lane to my right, and follows for about another mile while riding even with my back door. He finally pulls up to the passenger side front door. I'm not looking, but he wouldn't go away, so I look over, and he smiles and gives me a thumbs up and drives off.
I'm glad I didn't get pulled over though, as I said, I've never gotten pulled over and not gotten a ticket.
Travis Waldher 09-12-2002, 04:14 PM I'll never forget the time I got PACED doing in excess of 100mph on a dark rainy night. (I was tired... foot fell asleep on the gas pedal in 5th on a sports car, at 100mph without even realizing it)
She drove up behind me, used her flood light on me... I saw her I looked down... the required "OH SHIT" when I see the speedo. I instantly slowed to 55mph (the limit) without slamming on the brakes, just idled back down. She pulled up along side, looked over with a smile and took off.
I can only assume... she didn't want to get out of her warm car and in to the monsoon that was going on outside at the time.
hehe.
Brutpwr 09-12-2002, 05:25 PM My buddy was ahead of us towing his rig down Ice House Rd--45MPH with smoke coming off the brakes on the car trailer! The cop motioned with his hand out the window to slow down--he slowed to 30MPH with smoke still coming off the brakes (the sheriff turned on his red lights and he pulled over at the next largest turnoff) the sheriff motored on bye and waved! We were behind my buddy a 1/2 mile or so but could smell his brakes in the air. Another sherriff pulled in behind us--my buddy was maintaining 35 or 40 or so with smoke coming off the trailer and the front disc brakes on the Ford Powerstroke! We also pulled off and the sheriff motored on bye. 5PM after a long weekend is the wrong time to be on Ice House Road! :)
