I'm at the end of my build and it's time to charge my air shocks. Right now they're in the rig and i had planned on just putting the jeep on a lift to have them charged at a shop. However the shop wants nothing to do with the entire rig and only wants me to bring in the shocks. (race car shop) How easy is it to get them back into a rig once their charged?

I'm imaging having a 48" shock that i cant compress enough; and cant lift the rig high enough either.

theres no way you can jack up the rig enough to fit them in?

highlift on top of a block, maybe stick a jack in between the axle and chassis?

engine hoist?

edit: take the tires off, set the axle on low blocks, then jack the chassis up? that should give you another 18"+ available on your jack

Only option in that way is to trailer the rig to another club members place; he's got a skid-steer. I was really hoping to avoid that hassle is possible. So you're saying I'm up shit creek, huh.

My garage has a 7 ft ceiling and the rig sits at 6' full bump to the top of the cage. I've got 18" SAW's.

roll it outside to install em.

or see my edit, remove the tires so the axle can drop lower

Your just going to guess on the pressure and hope it works? I would find someone who has a nitrogen setup and just pull it outside to charge them.

Is there a better way to start with shock pressure?

finding someone with a nitrogen setup is easier said than done around here. You'd think I'm in the only person in MN who's using air shocks. No one, not even the off road shops have a kit, so i'm stuck with race car shops.

I'm going to start at 175psi in each, then piece together my own kit. It's been a week of going through everyone I know and everyone they know that even has the capibility to charge with nitrogen over 100psi. Even got a few people who say" dude, just use your compressor"... driving me crazy.:shaking:

what do you figure the buggy's sprung weight is? 2.0 airshocks or 2.5's? i guess its better to over fill them alittle and burp some out to set your ride heigth. just remember it doesnt take but a very quick little tap on the schader to drop it a few inches.
