hey guys, this is my first post, im new to off-roading, well ive never really done it yet, im still building my Jeep up. but thats of no importance right now, i recently got my hands on a dana 70, i dont know what kind, all i know its got to be an early 1, due to the fact that it has 23 splines on the axle shafts, and it measures 65" from wheel mount to wheel mount. now i want to put some kind of locker or posi in the rear, this jeep will be driven on the road as well, so it cant be a full time locker. looking for lockers i noticed there are slim to none that work for my differential, does anybody know if a can take a 35 spline carrier/axles and put them into my dana 70 without any modification?

I don't know which locker to use with a Dana 70 but if you type DANA+70 into the search box you'll see all the threads about them. There's a lot of info on this site, you just have to search:) good luck.

Apparently the 23 spline models have a different pinion offset.

It might alredy have a locker in it. Have you opened it up?

yes i have opened it, just regular spider gears.
