Iv'e read through the FAQ and searched around but can't find anyone whos actually put the ford 57" springs on the rear of a SII. Is there anybody who has? Lots of people have mentioned them as possibilities. I don't see why they wouldn't work well. I'm currently running chev 52"s in the front (RS). The offset of the 57s appeals to me also.
Does anybody have pics or any info on why I should or shouldn't run them? I don't really want to run the 63"s just because of the length, but maybe I should??

there are a few diff. versions. 3" wide and 2.5. Id go with the 2.5 in the back of scout. Otherwise, I cant help much.

I am running them on my scout II. I basically used 1984 F250 4x4 springs and took out 3 leafs, I think. They are the 3inch version and I modified the stock ford brackets and mounted them outside the frame. The placement of the center pin is offset to the front like the scout springs.
It hasn't made it out of the garage yet so I don't know how well they work yet. I have pics, just need to find them.

i know this thread is about ford springs but if your looking into offset pins look into chevy s10's they are 54" and flex really well. 4oor blazer springs are dime a dozen and should be about the right spring rate.

The pics of general ride height and mounting would be nice. Whats the distance from the bottom of your frame to the top of your axle?

Seems like a S10 pack would have a much different spring rate. Last time i weighed my scout it was around 6500Lbs.

my 4 door s10blazer weighs about 5300 so yea i guess i was wrong. Sorry boss i was thinking the scout was more the size of a early bronco then a fullsize.

That is probably the best link of all time. I finally found the springs I needed. Now if I can just find a 79 one ton chevy van I'll be set.

I finally got my engine in and front suspension mocked up so I could push this thing out of my garage. Everything is just tacked on for now. I had to redo the rear shackle twice because I wound up with too much lift. At first I used two front hangers on the front and back. Now I am using stock ford spring hangers with the rear hanger upside down. I may move some things around again before I weld everthing in. This was just to see if it would work!

I forgot to mention that I have center pin in the front hole of the spring perch. So I think the axle is about an inch farther back. I may just move the mounts back a little and center it up or leave it alone.
The springs I had them laying around from a dana 70 that I picked up for my brother,so they were free. I kind of like the fact that the spring is shorter in the front so maybe there wont be as much spring wrap. Don't know that for sure but we will see.

In the pics it kinda looks like you have removed a leaf. Are these stock or have you messed with them??
