Ok this is gonna make you PISSED. You may rember the post about my buddys truck stolen from rio linda. heres the link (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78612&highlight=stolen) Heres the update. It was found on I believe the north end of front street in Rio Linda just a 1/2 mile from were it was stolen from. it was rolled in a ditch all windows broke and dented from rocks. Also it was missing wheels/tires, all dash stuff, front calipers, and entire top end of motor including supercharger. Ok heres the thought proccess.......It found only 1/2 mile away with no ability to drive it, that means it was towed or pushed and most likely not very far. So I tell my friend to go look around were the cops found it. He goes there and there are i guess a few abandoned cars. Across the street seems to be a house with a large counrty type yard with car parts.......He pulls in and stays in the truck but looks around (his new 2500hd is same color and aproximate size as one stolen) a guy sees him runs in his house and comes back out with a gun.....in the mean time he spots his tires(the 39.5 mickey tompsons , i dont think there is a lot of em just lying around) the guy starts waving the gun around and then points it at my friend. He splits quick like and calls the cops. HERE IS WERE YOU GET PISSED!!!! The Cops say he cant prove there his tires and with out HARD evidence thay cant go bustin in and check it out......mind you there in plain open site, not in a garage or hidden, but were you can see them. I dont see how that entails bustin in anywere just go look around. As far as the gun they said "did he shoot at you?" well no, "then he has the right to protect his property" BS
Anyone got any ideas, or interested in a good ol fashioned LYNCHING:mad: :mad3: :flipoff:
The dumb ass left the Dynatrac 60 in it too:rolleyes: A-Hole

Unless there is a serial number, and reciepts for the tires, it will be kinda hard to prove it.. granted it probably is his tires, but they are not that uncommon. It really gets hard to prove things are yours unless they are marked somehow or they are serialized and you have the proof that they are yours.

He might of not been the one who stole it.. he saw it in the ditch, and took what he wanted.

And he does have the right to protect his property with or without a gun.

I agree and understand, but think of the probabilitys involved here. Also why'd he run in the house and get a gun imediatly? If he's seen the truck that was stolen he's seen the other truck that he was driving. Also the supercharger has serial #'s but I would think all of this info would give probable cause to at least investigate a little. I guess what makes me the most upset is that I've had stuff stolen found out who it was and the cops gave me the same deal. I guess I just feel they should at least talk to people and investigate a bit. I aint askin to violate our constitution. Maybe if they kept track of info then they could notice that all these abandoned cars are across the street from him and that they are all stolen and they can see parts from the street and do somthing. You said maybe he just say it in the ditch and took what he wanted......THATS STEALING!!!

burn his house down.
he's got to leave it unattended sooner or later.

a three man sling shot woud do.

fill glass bottles with plastic cups melted in gasoline until the gas is gooey. Red Stripe is a nice handgrenade-ish size.

don't forget to "tack" the road that comes from the fire dept.

I may be off here, but doesn't EVERY tire manufactured have a serial ID tag on it? If they are new enough, perhaps the place that sold them to your buddy has a record of them.

Worst case scenario, I would push the cops harder. Based on the fact that they are NOT dime-a-dozen tire/wheel combos and the scene of the crime being so close... Should be something that can be done. Worst case, threaten the police with legal action, then go after them AND the scumbag, get them for legal fees too.

Of course this is if you fail to get any "satisfaction" on a personal level. Look up local laws for fire-arms, go back out there with a video camera, depending on how said scumbag plays it, you may be able to nail him on at LEAST assault charges, if he TOUCHES you, that's battery too. Then you got his ass over a barrel, you get whatever you WANT from the fawker.

Man this pisses me off!!!

Well there is that option. Simple. Effective. Makes a statement. I like it....

Only 2 problems:
1) why you gotta fawk wit' the firemen, they aren't part of this?

2) likely to get your ass thrown in the slammah (especially if they can prove premeditation, like a certain place where you could PRINT a discussion from?)....:shaking:

I got no problem with firemen, I just woudn't want them interfering with my barbeque.

what premeditation?
there's not a shred of proof that he stole that stuff.
besides, only a nutjob would burn someone's house down for stealing a car. it's just unthinkable.

he's obviously a menace and he's just getting encouragment to do it again. stupid people need object lessons.
he;'s never gonna get prosecuted, it's too easy to dispose if the evidence. Cops won't bother with it. and this guy has to worry about ever leaving things out again within a half mile radius.

Anyone ever wonder why I hate police in general? At least the small town/city variety? (I had the same problem, fortunately it was only my GPS they stole.)

My vote:

To get justice... go back park/cruise the front of the place, you AINT on his property, wait for him to have a gun and point at you. Now... this is what take the balls.... can you let him fire once at you? Is it far away enough to know that he'll probably miss by a mile, but hopefully hit your truck so you have proof.

At that point... if you got your own gun and are a good marksman, kill the fucker.

Self Defense.

(of course... I never told you to do this, this was just some random thought I had while at work with a fever so I'm not making a whole lot of sense about anything right now anyway.)

Otherwise... there's not much you can do legally. Myself... I'de GO to the PD, talk to the chief. You might get a slightly better response then talking to the phone moron.

That isnt sufficient cause for the cops to go and investigate? Ask the dude some questions? That is fuckin :rainbow: :mad2:

I'll be more then happy to call the cops with a tip that there is stolen car parts there.... I'll say I was looking to buy parts from the guy and saw some stuff going on that seemed odd and he couldn't offer up any info on where he got the items and was offering to sell them for much below thier value.... maybe then they'll start to listen.... then a few days another one us will call up with a story about like it... the cops I would hope look into then if enough folks say HELLO there is somehting not right here. Worse thing that happens.... dude gets searched, he loses a few hours of his life and they find nothing.... or they could find things and he is busted...

Just wondering this too.... could you not have someone really go up to the place and act like they saw the stuff and was wondering if he was selling anything? Then try to make a deal on it... see if they could really see something not just do what I was saying make up a story... if they act like some goofy dork who just wants parts and is all Gomer Pyle like the guy probably wouldn't feel threaten and might go for it... never know.....

if you want to do this legal like write a leter to the police cheif with all the details, incl how the cops blew him off after being chased away with a FIREARM! Thats called BRANDISHING it's illegal.

CC: the local paper AND the city attorney make sure that cc is in the letter head, you want all parties to know who is seeing this fawk up.

also set the fawker up. park a tasty rig where it will get boosted, video camera, stun gun and 12g.

Why? From all that I've read here, there is NO probable cause... It's all hearsay... which really doesnt stand for shit in court....

Another vote for the Carbon Copy letter.

Rio Linda in general has a reputation for not being too bright, anyone else listen to Rush?

Once the cops investigate and find enough evidence to convict, take his butt to civil court and sue him for the price of the vehicle, time to construct said vehicle, and your time lost replacing the vehicle. Once you get a settlement put a lean on his house/truck/wife and watch him file bankruptcy.
