Hey guys.... My brother got an '89 Ranger last year, and we started building it this spring.
http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v239/81/118/158301558/n158301558_30956543_6133.jpg

A fullwidth D44 front got temporarily bolted in with stiff as hell TTB lift coils. This was done simply so that the truck could be driven and the rear could be tested. There are plans to rebuild the front, but right now the focus is the rear suspension.

As I said.... We built the rear suspension this spring. So here are some of the highlighted pics during the build.

Flexed pretty good, considering the front suspension is barely flexing.

My brother and I run a website.... Simply for fun!! We put together videos, it's called GouletFilms.com (http://gouletfilms.com). Here's one of our logos:
http://www.gouletfilms.com/logo5.jpg
So we decided to incorporate the logo into the truss...

So far, so good. The rear suspension has held up great!!! Mind you, that's with those tiny 31's and the stock V6. So future for the plans include:
-Completely redone front suspension with softer coils and a 3 link.
-Put together a 609 front axle, and truss it.
-Something between 35" and 38.5" Boggers with beadlocks (and a fullsize spare).
-Put together a 302.... Most likely will stroke it and try to get in the 350-400hp range.
-Convert the rear axle to full floating.
-Tube fenders and some fresh paint (all black with green GouletFilms.com logos).
-Full hydro steering.
-Custom front bumper, with winch located where the radiator would be (better approach angle).
-Rad relocated to rear of truck.
-Strip the interior and custom dash and gauges.
-And so on and so forth........
As you can see.... We're FAR from done!!!!! But at least the truck is driveable and he can abuse it while he puts together the money to finish the build. So let us know what you think of the rear suspension so far!

I think larger tires should be on the list quick the 31s have to suck...

Yup... Unfortunately, a blown jet ski engine slowed down the plans for this Ranger. Hopefully sooner than later, it'll have some better tires on her!

Also the rear seems to be a pretty nice lil setup why did you jsut stick raidus arms with ttb coils up front?

Thanks!!!
The front was quickly thrown together... In fact, so was the rear suspension. Just thrown together quickly with some leaf springs. But after breaking it almost right away, that's when we decided to take a different approach and do this project right. So the front will come eventually as well.
