I was wondering what springs I should get.. need at least 6" lift.. right now I have a 4" block (stock is 2") and 2.5" AAL and my rear is still about 2-3 lower than the front. So I figure I need at least 6", probably more like 8 and then I can take out the block and put the stock block back in. Any recommendations? I was thinking 63" cheby's with an AAL but if I could do something where I wouldnt have to mess with the spring hanger and shackle bracket then that would be great... someone suggested skyjacker springs and an extended shackle?

My setup is a 6" skyjacker spring for a ranger and the factory block and then i built a hanger setup and flipped my shackle to make it a compression shackle. however, most rangers have a compression shackle from the factory to might check that. is your shackle running below or above your hanger?

Sence you are swaping that 9" in you can set pinion angle when you put new perches on the axle this could work.
Grind the rivets off the rear shackle hanger and take it off. Put the top holes for the shackle hanger in teh holes in teh frame where the bottom rivets were. then bolt a piece of angle iron to teh bottom of the frame and to teh bottom of the shackle hanger. That should get you about an inch. Then get a lowering shackle for a fullsize chevy. From what I heard they will bolt into ranger hangers and springs but are a few inches longer then stock and will provide some lift. Then get a set of lift springs from skyjacker deaver national or wwhoever and use a small block to level it out.

Matt... Dane suggested pretty much exactly what you just said as well, except for to go with the chevy springs... which I will probably do just due to the fact that I am pretty much out of money and can go spend 300-400 bucks on springs.

I like the 63" chevy idea. I think they are 3" wide so you may need new hangers and shackles as well. Just make sure you get the shackle ange right the first time this time :flipoff2:

Im the guy with the BII that got his pic taken off! but anyways what you can do to get a cheap and efective 5 inch lift for really cheap is move the leafs under the frame. Im not sure on you truck but on my BII i move the leafs under the frame and then used an s10 shackle to mount it to a buggy lead from a stock BII. This setup gives me alot of flex and i dont have to much axle wrap even thoght im going to put in a custom axle wrap bar. Then all you have to do is throw in an extra leaf for the little bit more lift. I didnt do this because i wanted a low truck so i just cut the crap out of my finders. But i score a 1000 on a 30 degree ramp so it flexes alot!
