Has anyone used a Mustang IFS kit or something simiular on a Scout? I have a 70 with a no front drive axle that is only used as a daily driver. I would like to try one of these kits but would like to know if it has been done.

Thanks

Al

one of my future projects is going to be a 800 body on a slammed s-10 or blazer frame. when i had my donor s-10 in my garage next to the scout they looked about the same size, i didnt get any measurements though. good luck.

2 door S-10 Blazer is a 100.5" wheelbase (Pretty sure it was for the blazer and not pickup.) I've dreamed of this swap myself for a while now.

Not really the topic for Pirate 4x4, but...

There's a guy on JustIH that slammed a 2wd 70 800 with a 400cid chebby using an airbagged S-10 chassis.

The tech is good but this is an EXTRME 4X4 SITE.!

I don't know what is haping to the forum. I guess with the liberals in charge. We all gust need to be fair level the playing field and lower or standards.

I can remember, if some one asked even some of the hardest questions thay would get torn to shreds and now we let some one post a question about a 2 wheel drive!!!?:flipoff2: Hmmmm. I gust don't get it.

SO PRAISE THE LOWERED!!

I remember seeing an early scout on ebay that had been set on a 4.3 s10 frame tranny tcase awhile back. Probably the gayest thing ever.

Pull the girly pink thong out of your butt crack and open your eyes and mind just enough to realize that while yes this is a hardcore 4x4 site many of us are into all things automotive, and I for one am into lowered hot rod Scouts.

If you wanna get flamed just go to chit chat and get dumb, they'll mhelp you out.

So, if you don't like the 2wd stuff why are you bitching here. The Desert Racing Forum and the Tow Rig Forum are full of 2wd info. Sounds like someone needs to STFU.

I'd recommend a late '70s mopar subframe. A friend is planning on using one on a scout II project. We did a little measuring at the junk yard and they appear to be a good option. The nice thing about them is that the control arms, steering box and torsion bars are all attached to the crossmember which is simply bolted to the body of the car. Just drop the whole thing out and attach it to your frame.

I agree that this isn't really the kind of stuff that belongs on this site but is probably a cool project none the less....Maybe it would go over better if you posted up some of the specific tech involved rather than just 2wd concept BS.....Lets see some pictures of sparks flying! Get out the torch and sawzall, post pics and try again.

Considering you said this

I don't see the awfulness.

Yes, its been done. Saw it done on an 800 when a guy built a SWEET hot rod out of one. NOt sure what he did, or what happened to the pictures, but it is possible, and has been sucessfully done.

and really larboc if this thread upsets you so much, dont click on it. (save a puppy) That might actually help the thread out since you or urban have yet to contribute anything useful to it. :flipoff2:
