I just got a new project, a 69 fj40. If I put in a chevy 350 with a turbo350 and a np203 out of a mid 70's blazer how short will my back driveshaft be? If anyone has this combo in their fj40 I would greatly appreciate the info. Thanks.

Mike:
You wont need a driveshaft - the pinion flange will bolt directly to the tcase output!:D
Seriously though, I havent heard of folks using the 203 in a Cruiser, as it is a really long tcase; the 350/TH350/NP205 is more frequently used. You would have to mount the motor as far forward as possible, and move the rear axle back (do a spring flip as discussed recently). I am assuming you have some lift on this rig. If intended to be a street mobile at stock height, you may be able to get the 203 in.
Sorry I dont have any length stats for ya - hopefully some of the folks running the 350/350/205 combo can comment. Then you could add in the extra length of the 203 vs the 205 and go from there.

I'm currently running a 350 to a turbo 350 to a 203 to a Wardens billet case w/ 3 sp gears. Krusty is right its short(driveline). I am having Don(fc187) doing a soa and flipping the rear springs to give me more driveline lenght. As of now before the soa i think my rear driveline is about 18"- 20" long. You definately will need to flip rear springs to try and get more lenght. I really like the low gears with the 203. :p

Thanks for the info KrustyKruiser and jssena, the axles I am putting in are spring over and I am also reversing the springs. Hopefully this will give me decent driveshaft length.

Hey Mike,
I am running a 350/700R4/NP203/TLC3SP and I only had to chop 1".
I put my motor as far forward as possiable, flipped my rear springs, and flipped my spring hangers. With my flipped front springs I am running 102" wheel base. Pics at:
