So we got a deal on Volvo Portal axles coming up here. $1000 a piece for a pair. Go to www.rockbuggysupply.com. This is a GREAT deal here, and you can't beat it. $2000 for a pair of portal axles. These axles are built to handle 16" wheels, can bolt into a rig with leaf springs. Run 37" tires and get the clearance of a 44" swamper. We need 7 more peopleto get this deal going on. Talk to Alan, and lets get this going!!!!!!!!

If they have disc brakes, sign me up for a pair. Otherwise, you can get Mog's from exaxt (http://www.exaxt.com) for that price at any time. I'm down with the portals but am not sure why I'd want them over mogs. Can the Volvo's handle a 42" tire?

Didn't that truck in TTC have Volvos, and broke that other guy's D70 in a pull-off? I had a video, can't find it.
I think he was running 44s.

What side is the front diff on? Is the rear centered? How wide?
As you can see, I have paid little attention to any previous discussions here regarding mog or volvo axles.

Hey Flatty you know the rules. No group buys.
The Volvo portals are available with centerd rear.

Site says 2200 EACH!
Be careful what you buy too. According to the guy I purchased mine from you can't just buy any set you have to be choosey if you want good ones that won't need work.
FWIW 2000 is what I paid for my PAIR with tires (25% tread) and wheels and I know he still made some money on them.

yes you can get mogs for that price used not rebuilt and mog axles will need the pinion mod to accept a standard yoke , volvo's can be adapted a lot easier . at current time it runs $450 per axle to do the pinion mod . and if you want disc's that is more money so the comparison your making is not fair to the price of the mog axles .
yes i believe the mogs to be slightly stronger but the mogs can and will break too . the volvo's are more suited to a lighter wight buggy , isnt that the way most rockcrawlers are going these days .
also i havnt seen mog reconditioned axles for sale anywhere for the prices you claim .
the mog needs more work done to it to work in a rig the volvo will work with very few mods .
and daniel could the comment "volvo's aint all that" be because you sell mog axles ? just curious . im not saying they are all that ..

there is a great discussion on the src board about volvo and mog axles . it shows some pix of the volvo's internal parts as well as the pros and cons of both the volvo and mog axles
