I have a friend who found a deal on a scout and planned on taking the axles for his jeep. When he got it home and found out it had a V8 he kind of changed his plans about using it for parts, and now its only taking up Space.

So I have this other friend who is intersted. But neither really knows what its worth. I know what my buddy bought it for. But I do not think he is willing to give it up for that kind of deal.

The truck is a V8 with a manual tranny and 4WD. It has a roll bar, and is a pickup configuration instead of an enclosed SUV style. The engine will need a rebuild, but it runs enough to get onto a trailer. Overheats & there is coolant in the oil.

And its located in Northern California with barely any rust at all. Anything to help would be appreciated, thanks.

I would say it's worth 4500 bucks, but it's older than 1984...

Holy crap!!! Those 1/2 cab models with a V8 AND a manual trans are ultra rare. Put that sucker on ebay with a starting price of $10,000 and sit back and watch the $$$$$ roll in as the collectors trip over their dicks trying to outbid each other.

It sounds like a Scout Terra? Does it have a fiberglass top? Hard to give it a value without seeing it or pictures. For now I'd say $1000-$1500 is probably a fair price but I may change my mind if I see it or pictures. Whoever it ends up with it please let them know about our shop and retail store as we'd be glad to see another Scout get back on the road.

Jeff, thank you for your reply. IHNorth was my 1st stop, but I didnt feel like registering for your forums.

However, after the multiple jerk-off replies I recieved from the seasoned P4x4 members (exactly what I expected to be honest) I will take the time to register and come hang out with you guys. You are also not far from where the 3 of us are, so when my buddy does have this thing in his hands... i'll make sure to recommend you guys as the know-alls.

$1000-$1500 is also what I was thinking.

Then why did you even bother to ask? You like the attention? I have been watching this site for years and rarely posted because I could always find what I was looking for through a search or two. No need to post drivelous shit just so everyone can flame the hell out of it. I guarantee you could find the "book" value of that Scout with a few minutes searching the net but "book" value means nothing to me or probably anybody else. Tell your "buying" friend it's worth $2000. Tell your "selling" friend it's worth $1500. Pocket an easy $500. :smokin:

I posted here because I have an account, and I do lurk and read alot from here. Also to keep up on current events and trail openings.

Anyhow. I have been convinced to register at IH north. You are right, what was I thinking?

What it's worth is, if you are buying, it's worth nothing, if you are selling it's worth whatever you can get out of it.
