I am almost done with the diesel swap into my '75, but I am having some clearance issues with the t-case. It is a 7.3l idi, t19 , ??? t-case. I can't find any ID tags or numbers on the t-case. It only says Borg Warner.. I can't seem to find a list of t-cases that were available behind the t19. The case that I have is a little too wide.. It is hitting the frame on the left side. ( front output side). I could notch the frame, but REALLY don't want to.. Is there any smaller t-cases that will bolt to a t19?? I just need one a few inches narrower.

:confused::confused:

205 should bolt right up and give you the room you need

I'm assuming I will need the 205 adapter as well..? Does it matter if it was behind a c6 or manual? Also, any idea what t-case I have?

Thanks.

IIRC you should have a 1356, I think your adapter will work but may need a little grinding to clear something(shift rail maybe?)

manual or auto should both work unless you need an adapter

Yea, the shift rail is what I was wondering about.. Hmm, well I guess I will try to track one down tomorrow. Are the 1356's worth anything or should I send it to the junk yard?

Only two choices are the 1345 and the 1356, but seeing how it's a 7.3L and not a 6.9 I'd hazard to guess a 1356.

Nothing really wrong with it, good solid unit that can handle the 7.3L strokers and has a nice low range. You could sell it easy enough. Especially to someone that would like it to swap out an electric shift on the fly unit.

I finally found some numbers stamped on it.. it is a 1345. The truck that I got the drivetrain out of had a 6.9l in it originally..

I guess I will toss it on craigs for $50 and see if I can get something for it..

I picked up a 205 + adapter today. It was bolted to some manual trans. in a '78 f250. The tranny end of the adapter does not line up. The holes are in a similar pattern, but are not the same. So I did a little grinding on my other adapter so it would clear the shift rail. The only thing that I can see that might be a problem is that the two adapters are slightly different lengths. I'm hoping the output shaft doesn't sit too deep in the t-case. Other then that it should work. It gave me the exact clearance I needed. :)
