In an agreement signed today by the B.C. government, environmental groups have dealt a huge blow.
The accord will affect 1,136,000 hectares or 2,807,106 acres or 4,386 square miles of forest.
This is an area twice the size of Prince Edward Island or (for a US comparison) an area
approximately the size of Conneticut (4,872 sq mi). For more on this story check out the following links:

This brings the total area of protected land in B.C to more than 48,000 square miles or the size of North Carolina.

Sounds like bad news, Paul. They didn't mention how this affects other uses. I'm assuming that since environmental groups are all for it, that four-wheelers are getting screwed. Are there groups, such as Blue Ribbon, involved in this?
