94 Toyota P/U 22RE w/ 33 BFG MT's
I'm looking to re-gear from the 4.10's to 4.88's rear and front. Should I look for the entire axle or just the 3rd member?
Thanks :cookie:

I don't know a hole lot about the yota's but if your going to that low of a gear you may want to look around and find at least some stronger axle shafts to handle the extra torq http://www.northwestoffroad.com/parts/diff_ringnpinion.html you can check this place out for some gears.

all you need to do is find a 3rd member with a set of 488s and throw it in

What's a good price on the 3rd?

it depends if there locked/open/welded. usually when people regear the diffs they dont leave them open. if you plan on ever running a bigger tire then a 33, put in 5.29s.

I'll be sticking with 33's for a while, I've been having a tough time trying to find the 4.88 3rd member, I'm still looking, may have to break the bank soon..I've hit several u-pull yards and haven't found em yet..Let me know if you know of anything, thanks bud.

if you are looking for the factory toyota 3rd's with 4.88's br aware that the ring and pinions are toyota specific. meaning, if you break a rign adn pinion you will have to purchase one from toyota ($$$$$$$$). just a heads up.

trail gears creeper gears $150, install kit $100, labor for install, $150-$200, thats $400-$450 per end......factory 4.88 are hard to find and not worth the headache, parts/gears do not interchange w/ standard 4 cyl or v6 carriers.
