I just put the five speed tranny back in my ram after getting it fixed. We broke the stock cps while putting it in. I went and bought a new cps at pep boys put it in drove the truck 400 miles home and it started running like shit.

So I pulled the cps out and its hitting the fly wheel. i looked at the fly wheel and it has marks from the sensor hitting the fly wheel wtf is wrong? The stock one that we broke has alittle bit of rub marks on it. But the new one is just grinded down to the wires in the sensor. :shaking:

The crank sensor needs a cardboard spacer to set it correctly. You can get them from the dealer.

can you explain more how the spacer works. I was kind of wondering cause the stock one was plastic. This one was a bitch to get all the bolts in, Once i had the first bolt in i had to get a pipe and push it against the back of the plate on the sensor to get the other hole to line up

was that because you fastened the first bolt too tight? What was plastic the spacer or the sensor? Was there a spacer on the original one you took off?

no i just started to thread it into the hole. The first sensor was plastic and i didnt see any spacer when we removed the first one
