Been de-bugging the zuk all week getting ready for our next trip. Need to do a little clearancing on my steering arms and swap out a motor mount and I'm ready for round two.

Also picked up a trailer this week so I can stop mooching trailers off all of my homies. Now that I have tow rig and a trailer its only a matter of time AZ!

The zuk isnt anywhere near as big as big mama, but the zuk did look ridiculous behind our Durango the few times I towed with that...serious wag the dog!

Incontrol: I bought an Big Tex 70DM...18 ft, all metal deck, all in all pretty nice. Still a few places that look like it was welded by a blind chimp, but much better than everything else I looked at.

And mine too :D . Would have to put a lift kit and big tires on that Excursion to get the rear bumper high enough to tow that though (lol). BTW, didn't they have a red trailer with blue flames? Seriously, sweet looking trailer scwafish. You are startin to look too classy to hang with the likes of us.

Thats the one....one of you PSD kids will have to get the gooseneck 40 footer. Show it to Victor!

Az= Thanksgiving might be a little too soon for me but i will see how things go with the new kid. So far she is still kicking my ass.

how much did that trailer set you back?

scwafish
09-14-2002, 11:04 PM
Plenty! Seriously though they are $2495, about the same as what Reeds wanted for a similar unit, but with out the 8 week wait and with better accessories. I also looked at some Carson all metal units but the build quality was :barf: :barf:

I wanted something new or in really good shape because me and the boy are going to hit the road next spring for some long hauls. Montrose is on our list for sure. Always wanted to go to Moab. And of course AZ :D

Had to go to Martinez to get to a Big Tex dealer. The only person that sells up here is 101 rv in Willits. They have Carson trailers for as low as $1495, but they are pretty lame IMHO.

Bobaki: I'm out of the excuse business...time to go have fun! You up for travelin? Get that damn PSD fixed and lets roll!

The mega-boat does have the V10, but so far I'm likin' it. Quieter than the PSD, and plenty of grunt for my setup. Me and Incontrol, three kids, two camps worth of gear, and the zuk on a trailer and we got about 11 mpg doing 60 mph to the con. No problem jamming up Ice House Road.

Not quiet as good as a PSD but not bad either. Can't beat the PSD for hard-core hauling, but I don't need that much power with my combo.

scwafish
09-19-2002, 06:59 AM
Nozuk-very little rust on my rig, there are pics of it stock at www.sonic.net/jkwaters

Poppy-The deck is 83 inches I believe. There all pretty much the same, because the overall width is limited by law. My zuk only has about an inch of clearance on either side. People who are wider get removable fenders , or make the fenders strong enough to drive over.

Bobaki-You are a shameless padder!
