You got damn luck to just walk into a junk yard and find a TH400 203 combo. About the only year that was at all common was 74.
I have only seen that combo once and it's laying on my buds floor in his shop. I thought about buying but if I change tranny's I'm going for a 465.

i've got the combo right here =].. going in the buggy.. it's a th400/np203 combo out of a '78 3/4 ton gmc.. it had a lil 350 small block in front of it... adapting it back to a '77 bronco np205.. you guys don't even want to know what i found the 400/203 for.. :D

Was your truck tan with bullet holes in it to? :D One thing I did notice in that picture is that your pan for the tranny is way shalower then mine? Did they have a deep pan opctin?

A 205 out of a 77 Bronco? Do you mean 78 or later? I don't think EB's came with 205's.

In other news, how you kids planning on mating the 203/205's?

i won't swear that it came out of a '77.. hell i won't swear it came out of a bronco.. i picked it up at a local junkyard.. it had been sittin in their tcase/tranny shed for a few years.. i just saw " '77 bronco " that the j'yard had written on it.. i DO know it's a driver's side drop tcase.. and i do know it's an np205.. :D that's all i care about :D

http://filebox.vt.edu/users/blangfor/buggy%20when%20young/bronco%20np205.jpg

i'm puttin mine together with an offroaddesign doubler adapter.. i want to clock the 203 90 degrees so it's flat.. and i want to clock the 205 so it's flat.. and it's gm 203 to ford 205.. that's what stephen runs, but his is a steel gen I adapter.. he hasn't made a new aluminum gen II adapter like that yet.. all's good, but i'm worried about dtrain mounting points... clocking the 203 takes away the 203 mount.. so stephen made a mount on his adapter.. but his is steel.. that would be a little tough for me to do on aluminum... the only other stock mounting on these components is that cheezy hang off one side ford np205 mount.. so we're still up in the air as to how this will get done.. if worse comes to worse i'll just clock the 205, but i really wanna flatten everything out under the buggy.. but i'm workin w/ ord to figure out a new way to clock both.. hope it can be worked out.. i've got an idea or 2..

well, u might be and u might not be.. i originally planned on a th350/203.. i remember watson telling me i could clock that 90.. then i decided th400/203 combo for various reasons.. the tail housings are different and yes i was afraid that i might not be able to clock.. i've somewhat taken the time to look at the pattern, but i'm not positive it will clock 90.. i really won't know till i pull it off i guess.. and i haven't had a chance to ask stephen... but if i got to i will clock it 180 if it can all work out.. maybe i'll pull 'em apart sooner than anticipated so i can figure this out.. altho i'm sure someone out there already knows the answer...
