- The Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club and Alliance for a Clean Texas are holding a Statewide Environmental Lobby Day on Monday February 26th. Travelling to Austin, visiting with your legislators, and sharing your concerns and experience as a constituent can make a big impact on the future of Texas' air, water and natural resources. We will hold a training session on Sunday, February 25th from 2:00-5:00 to share information about the issues, the legislative process, and how to deliver a compelling and targeted message to a legislator. The training session will be followed by a dinner at Threadgill’s restaurant. Lobbying will begin on Monday morning after a breakfast in the capitol cafeteria. This is a great opportunity to participate in the legislative process and make a difference! We encourage you to make the trip to Austin. A limited amount of financial assistance is available for travel, lodging--scholarship decisions will be made on Friday 16th.
For more detailed information and a schedule of events please visit the Chapter website at www.sierraclub.org/chapters/tx (http://www.sierraclub.org/chapters/tx) and click on Statewide Environmental Lobby Day (make sure and look at the RSVP form also).
