Just purchased a '74 Scout II and was curious if there are any transmission options available. Its the original 304 ih and currently has the 3 speed.. i believe its a T-90. I have been searching for adapters for a NP435 or a SM465, since these are common and more ideal, but havnt found any adapters. I am also not sure what the bellhousing pattern is and if I would even need an adapter.

I am pretty new to transmissions and completely new to internationals, ive always had 4.0 cherokee automatics that never seemed to have issues. So this truck is going to be a HUGE learning experience. Be mean, be harsh... if you must.

thank you

Alright, thank you. I wish there was more possibilities, but the 304 is a strong engine, there would be no reason to replace.

Unless your name is Tom, your 304 is not strong

i'd much rather have my t19 than a 465 or 435. butta.

They don't make any power. In fact some theory's of un-power are floating around.

the manual should help, but my 304/727 combo could barley keep up with city traffic with 4.10's and 33's. and still got 6mpg.
