my current case has the yoke on the right.
my replacement case has the one on the left.
is it possible to switch them? i know it is going to come down to the spline count. but were the 2 types of flanges even made with the same # of splines?
whats the best remedy? (besides a 205 :flipoff2:)

the yoke is available in 10, 30, and 32 spline, the flange is stock 30, and you can get a aftermarket 32.
they will swap straight over as long as the splines match.....

It depends on your case but I have swaped them over before....if they were both from the front of 203's then they should swap just fine.

The one on the left is better, correct?

not necasseraly. the flange style takes up shaft length and put the shaft tube at a slightly steeper angle. the yoke type are a pain to put the cv on.

the yoke style will allow a longer driveshaft, but limits you in joint size.
the flange style allows larger joints but uses a shorter shaft at more of an angle.
call jess at high angle driveline for a shaft, he can probably give you size recommendations.
fwiw, np205 rear yokes are 1350 for 3/4 ton and 1 ton chevys, and when you put a ford front output in the front of a 205 for a chevy you can slide the 32 spline yoke right on after clearancing it a bit so the joint caps dont hit.
I would start looking for the 205, now. save the range box from the 203 for the doubler.

If the yoke in your hand is 30 spline then just put it on and be done with it-----if the seal is the same. I don't think I've ever seen a 203 front output in a 10 or 32 spline, they've all been 30

ya i think next week im just gunna go ahead and take the one on the truck off and see if they will switch over. just though i would see if there is even a chance of them working before i did all that. i just didnt want to take it apart, not line up then be out of driving it while waiting for the correct part.
the pic is from the web, not my hand.

allot of the 203's are the 10 spline actually -I think the 30 spline came on 1977 only very rare application actually -but if the splines are the same they will swap- the 1310 yoke is only available in 1310 c/v not to bad for most-the flange is a 3r crappy c/v but can be made better with a 1350 c/v that bolts right to it -good luck -Jess
