Anyone know a source to buy a really beefy diff cover to mount a ram to, or any one make there own and have pics. \
I don't think that i have any other place to mount this ram so i have to give it a shot on the diff cover.

Anyone done this before.

Hmmm, should be plenty of info in the archives...

This guy (Steve Frisby) makes some heavy stuff that would have no problem with it. http://mo-offroad.com/

Oh, you can also look at rock rings like Avalanche makes, I've seen rams mounted to them too...

Thanks for the link, i checked the archives and only came up with a couple things and they were all regarding using hydro assist, and smaller rams, like the agr stuff.

Check out Ron's custom offroad
http://www.ronscustomshop.bigstep.com/homepage.html

I'm sure you could mount one to these. They are the beefiest and best priced ones I've seen. I'm running them front and rear. If you get a rock in the way of your diff you can just ram it and break the rock off :D

I know that several of you have done this and had it leak. If you use a cover from Missouri offroad or WMS and take dowel pin it to the housing it won't leak but you've got to have a buddy with a lathe to make the shoulder bolts like you would need to make this work properly. The leaks come from the cover being pushed side to side and eventually creates a leak by using a few shoulder bolts that will hold the cover so that it can't move it will not leak. Another option would be to have WMS make an "O"ring groove in there cover to seal it to the housing and then it could move and not leak.

Pretty sure if you look under a new GM truck with Quadrasteer the rear steering system is attached to (part of) the diff cover with tie rods going out to the knuckles. That system is on a Dana 60, I think.
