Ok i've had this truck (77 Chevy 4wd longbed) for a few years now. bought it from a friend. Anyways he bought a new BDS lift for it then and when he went to put the springs on they were too long so he cut what he had to to clear it. They are 56's and they were supposed to send 52's maybe  It was a temp fix til he could fix it but sold it.
Anyways i plan on using these springs on a '80 shortbed but think i may have to relocate the shackle back further. Should be an easy fix right??
I'd like to make the springs flatter though cause they're awful high in the rear right now but i think it'd change my pinion angle.
what would you do here??

And yes the truck rode like a log wagon while he had it cause of this

Looks like a shackle flip is in store for the future

That was another option but seeing as how they're already 6" springs i didn't want to go any higher with the truck. I don't need that much lift

get a shackle flip kit from ORD, they claim you can swap sides and use them with 56 springs, but i moves your axle back an inch.... then it's time for some zero rates...

What about taking the front hanger off one frame and use it in the rear. same concept right. I know i've seen it done

Why exactly do you want to use these 6" springs if they are to long and to tall???
I would get some 56" stock springs, shackle flip it and call it good...

My original thinking was because i already had these :D
I was thinking more about it though and think i'm just gonna use the stock springs on the shortbed and shackle flip the rear. Then buy a set of EZ rides for the front. I can sell the springs and make some money for the new parts.
With a good set of shocks i should be golden

you dont have to get more lift using a shackle flip.....
build your own that are higher up than ord or diy.
or
move you stock hanger back 4" into the 56 position.......................

Sold the springs so now all i have to do is figure out my money situation and buy the shackle flip then the front springs. I got a little time til my motor and tranny are built anyways

i used the stock spring pack, took it all apart, cleaned, painted, added a leaf, zero rates and tossed the overload. with the 4in diy shackle flip and 6inch shackles... i have a perfect 8inch lift.... i duno how much lift you want but what i did rides awesome and also it sits perfect with 39s...... heres two pics, i have yet to tho move the rear axle back............maybe if you still want 6inches, just use 6in fronts, a shackle flip , stock rear pack, take the overload out and add a longer leaf up farther in the pack and 6inch shackles...
