Went with John on the list (redrangie) on the Spring Creek Trail this weekend. Had a really good time and took a few pictures along the way of his ride. Here they are.

Had a bit of difficulty myself. Bent a rear control arm. Here are a few fun pics.

Way after his second break, and after posting his rig for sale (it doesn't show well on the web, but that's a for sale by owner sign on the side of the trail) :

What happens if you incorrectly bodge a trail arm trailside.... Maybe John from rovertym wants this shot to show what can happen to stock arms? I f you look close, you will see that the slider is about 1" into the tire, as well as the door. I measured the arm at 4" sticking through the WRONG side of the mount....

me on the last big one... The pig was too heavy and I couldn't stay on the 6" of rock I needed for the exit line. The new sliders took some BIG hits, and only had one scratch. I survived the trail except for a knocked off diff guard, and a dented y pipe that rattles real well (touching the t-case) at idle when cold. The trail is usually a 7, but we had three days of torrential rain/snow (depending on elevation) , which had washed out a lot of the terrain. It was still wet and ANY wheel spin was met with the sight of moving/loose rocks. I am going to be making an aluminum or steel crossmember/exhaust shield, if anyone wants to collabarate. I was thinking of using the existing cross-member bolts for the attaching point.

LOL....I love it. Can't wait to hear the other comments. I'll try to check the list during this next week from my Denver Hotel room, but not positive they have computers for guests to use there. So maybe until next friday, but until then...:flipoff2:

You are still offroading in your Birks huh ? I got stuck in mud and briars last month and while trying to hi lift ( first time using it as a winch...not recomended!) out couldn't keep the birks on my feet at all.. I destroyed my feet in the process but saved my rover.. Now I wear Teva Spiders and keep boots in the trunk. My feet are still healing... but to each his own!

When I am not wearing dress shoes, I like to wear birks. If you wear them a lot, you get used to doing anything and everything in them. They are my favorite wheeling shoe by far. I recommend them to everyone. :flipoff2:
