Looking for wall thickness of the 9" housing. I've noticed that EB=3" O.D., and full size PU=3 1/4" O.D. Is the wall thickness of the bigger tubes thicker, or the same??
An 'ideal' score would be 3 1/2" O.D. with 7/16 wall.

The later EB housings for '76 and '77 are of the style like the F-150 with the larger od of tube and it slips inside the i.d. of the center section and is welded vs the early style of just being butt-welded.
as for it having 7/16" wall, not likely, more like 1/4"

Here is the later EB housing installed in my '68.

Get the later EB one or one from a 2 wd F100 or F150. It will only be about 3' wider have big bearings and be the larger tubes like Alpo says. I've never cut up a nine inch with bigger than 1/4" tubes. Plenty good with the bigger diameter and the later punkin'.

Hey Rogue Bronco, I just had a look at the ends that I cut off of cornjeeper's lincoln 9" when I machined up his FF flanges and the wall thickness it ~.260".
