PDA : daniel..you were wanting to know about a failure of a rockwell joint.... onetonwillysands10 09-15-2002, 07:12 PM daniel, you mentioned in another thread wanting to know if anyone ever broke a rockwell joint...Well here is you answer to your question..Leave it to the enginering marvel (laughter) of the "mechanical a#$hole"...One rockwell joint down along with the inner and outer shafts..The 54 inch tires and the alcohol injected 468 ate one for lunch...It was so violent it blew the center of the drive flange out of the flange..This was already after breaking a shaft in the rear front axle..The joint blew in the front axle though...Trust me there isn't much that thing can not destroy...it might give the 5 tons a run for the money:D 350 Samurai 09-15-2002, 07:17 PM Did you get any pictures of it Brian? Did you see the thread where Daniel said some guy is running the 2 and 1/2 ton housing with 5 ton outers and axles, resplined to fit the 2 and 1/2 ton 3rd member. Ever seen a 44 bogger blown OFF the rim using ether trying to re-seat the bead? You should see people scatter :eek:
