Soo has anybody seen or ran this kit in person?? http://www.rocky-road.com/cjspoa.html It's a complete bolt on soa kit for my cj7. I called a local shop here and told them im not a welder and was considering this kit for my cj and they laughed and said they've seen these kits and the parts never lined up and the fact that it completly bolts to the frame isn't comparable to welding. well...the kits 450bucks and they wanted 1500 to do a soa for me. I could install the kit myself. I want your guys input?? any pics?? any buddys do this?? the kits by rocky road and eventually I could even weld it in later when i can. Any reviews on a "complete bolt in soa kit" ??? I think theres like two different ones on the market. thanks

Well,
I have no experence with this product.
I did read the attachment and found it interesting
I don't know if the price is good? fair? or ?
I would ask them for some references locally that you could check out.

IMHO
I would just hire someone to weld on the perches, shock mts, spring hangers, etc..
The cost would be reasonable
$1500 the bid you got
$ 450 the cost of the kit (I'm sure that will grow)
$1050 left over to pay a moblie welder a couple $100 to come by the house.
Just have everything ready to go before you call for the welder, they get paid the same for standing around waiting on you or welding. There are quite a few moblie welders in your area.

But maybe someone else has some "real" experience with this kit.

Good Luck

a "bolt-on" kit is just a bandaid for the real thing, you know it and so does everybody else:shaking:

That kit is absolute trash. I stopped reading it once I seen their solution to the steering issue that pops up on SOA builds was the "Exclusive Z-link" :shaking:.

How big a tire are you gonna run? What axles are you going to use? If you are gonna use stock axles and stay 35" tires or less then there is absolutely no reason to go SOA.

I'd like to run 35's and my cj7 was a narrow track but I got the wide track d30 and 20 front and rear end, one piece axles, locker, disc etc. I want to go soa with yj leafs. soo I'm glad I got everybodys opinion on this kit before I went out and bought it. HHmmmm guess I'll buy a soa weld kit and take it to a local shop.?

you could also buy a low end 110volt welder off craigslist. set up everything yourself to your liking tack it in place then call the welder or or take axles etc to him for final burn in.

Or you can take a look at this and let is marinate for a bit before you do anything.

yeah id have to agree that if your not gonna do it right then dont do it. id throw on a 5 inch lift and a 1" body and put my 35's on rather then use some bolt on junk with a z link.

if you do go spring over do some research and also price the other stuff your gonna need like an anti-wrap bar and proper steering correction
