89 jeep wrangler, sat in storage for the winter, went to start it and no spark. pulled a wire and put in a inline spark tester, fired right up. drove it for a few days and it died, no spark. put the inline tester back on, no spark, hooked a test light to the battery to check for spark at the coil while cranking. as soon as I touched the coil it fired up and ran. ran for a few days and died again. noticed it would start sometimes as you started to release the key. changed the ignition switch, wouldn't fire up. changed out the distributor with a reman distributor, fired up and ran for a few days, died again. today, I had the inline testor on it, noticed it had no fire until you release the key, then a quick spark, went to hook up a scan tool . as I'm punching data in with the key on, it turned over once????? scan tool wasn't much help, any ideas? if you sit long enough with the key on you can hear a clicking from some relays beside the battery and in the distributor. could the starter have a short and cause all this? any help would be greatly appreciated. I did find one post similiar, but the problem was never solved or answered that it was solved.
