Anyone going to be in Tellico the Weekend of Sept 21&22??

My jeep is prepped and ready, the only problem is the guys I'm going with are both finishing up dual axle swaps and look like they might not make it......

So I'm looking for someone else to possibly ride with....

I will be camping along river road on the Tennessee side as close to State Line Campground as possible..

Schoolbus and Slickrock are my two priorities this trip, since these are the only trails that I haven't conquered with my current jeep. (ran out of time last trip)
I'm pretty confident of my jeep and shouldn't hold up anyone that I tag along with... (CJ-5, 105" WB, Dana 60, 14bolt, 39.5 Tsl's, 258 with GM TBI)

Thanks

Some people from the club are planning a ride up there for this weekend. They will probably hit quite a bit and probably wouldn't mind if you joined them.

Me an d a couple other people from Memphis will be out there the month after that, Oct. 18-20.

We'll have at least a TJ on 38s (Joey - you readin' this?), a coiled sammy on 38s, and two toys on 36s (one of which is me).

So if you're free the month after your ride, look us up...

Hey man, I'm one of the guys from the Rebel Rock Runners that is going to Tellico this weekend. We're going to have a nice sized group and are camping as close to the trails on the TN side as possible just like you. We'll be getting there about noon on Friday and riding through Sunday. We're hitting lower 2, guardrail, heli pad, schoolbus, slickrock. You get the idea. Here's a link to a pic of my Jeep. You should see me when you get there. Stop by and say hey and you can get in with our group.

Cool.. depending on work Thursday I will heading up there Thursday night or early Friday morning...
I plan on camping in the last big camping area on the LEFT about 1/4 mile before the dirt road that runs up to upper two....

Hopefully I can hook up with yall Friday afternoon, ( I read your bulletin board about trying to hit the trails around 1:30pm), that is if my brother in law hasn't drug me off trout fishing!!

Do ya'll run channel 4?

One guy in my club is looking good... I picked up his driveshafts today for him today... but he won't be up till Friday night...(00' TJ on 39.5's, 60front, 14bolt rear, 104" wheelbase)

The problem with Tellico in October is that its crowded, seems like something is going on just about every weekend...
I don't like sitting in traffic all day while on the trail.....

Sounds awesome man. I don't think we'll have any trouble finding each other. CB4 sounds fine to me. I'll holler at ya friday around 12:30. Later

Yeah, well, it's not an issue any more. Ian *severely* bent his rear D44 in a vicious roll two weekends back, and his Sammy is going 60's. So were gonna go some place closer (hot springs) since a maiden voyage 7 hours away is kinda creepy...

Crowds are not a problem in Tellico anymore. The law has gotten so bad on the TN side that nobody goes there like they used to.

I was up there Labor Day and didn't have to wait but once. We rode everything there except for Peckerwood and never waited in line. The only place we had to wait was at Lower 2 and then it was just because our group was so big.

tators,

I'm hurrying, I'm hurrying. I think I can make it. All I have left is:

-driveshafts (thanks for picking those up)
-diff lube
-search for leak in transfercase
-test drive
-cut fenders
-load trailer
-find the tools I need out of the huge pile in the garage
-secure gas tank in the bed
-pray that it all works, Tellico is one hell of a 'shaker run'.

.

Memorial Day the guys camped next to us got $100 fines each for riding their dirtbikes 1/4 mile down the road to their campsite...
The ranger warned everyone else repeatedly and said that once your warned the fine goes to $500....

I just hate running all the way up River road and not being able to find a campsite close, then having to find a place to turn our rigs around... Couple of years ago we ended up having to go all the way back up to Campsite 1, (right at Bald River Falls)...

It does seem like most folks go there and "Camp" wheel.... we never see any of the rigs on the trails, just in camp...

Hey man, what happened to you this weekend. I looked all over but never saw your Jeep. No biggie. We had a good time but you didn't miss much. It poured rain practically the whole time. Didn't stop up from going up schoolbus though. That was the highlight of the trip. Gimme a holler next time u want to go. I'm always game. Later

I met one your guys at the Tellico Pride Gas Station Friday afternoon.. (big green thing with coil-overs)...
He hauled A$$ to the trail head and I never seen him again... I didn't get to camp and set up till around 2:30pm Friday... I drove up trail 5 and called for ya'll on Channel 4.....so I went ourt 4 and down upper 2 to see if ya'll were playing in the rock garden..

Ended up riding Saturday with Steve (from Chattanooga, Toyota 4runner) , he said you were headed home cause it was raining...
We ended up running upper 2, which had a small mudslide running down it in the rain, then we ran slickrock...(I broke a stub shaft at the very top)....

Your right ... it wasn't much of a weekend... :(
BTW... I did spot you going by in your rig saturday afternoon as you where heading out... We were in campsite 7...

Shit man, we must have just missed each other. Sorry I didn't get you on the CB. That was the day we were on schoolbus. Hope you had fun with Steve. He's a good guy. I feel for you though in the rain no top and all. I can sympathize with you. By Saturday I had had enough of being soaked lol.
