im in the market for a good narrow set of axles, like 45". they need to hold upto 31s without snapping. how wide is a dana 23? 53" at the most, this is for a buggy that i want to be able to load in the bed of my truck, drive 30 miles to a wheelin spot, kill it, and load it up again without getting my 2wd shitmobil stuck. theese axles need to be realitively easy to find in the usa.

Suzuki Samurai axles. I know a stock sami will fit in the bed of a fullsize chevy :D

If you kill it it's gonna be really hard to put it back in your truck. I would say it probably wouldn't fit in the bed of a s10. Some big 4-wheelers barely fit. Samurais do fit in a fullsize though

they have some narrow d44s. I think they are around 50" wide but could be cut down.

Two axles in the back of an s-10 is enough to kill it let alone a rig.

sammurai axles are still 53.5" wms to wms. toyotas are 55". you will have to cut down either, but since sammi's are offset, you could cut them down to the point that both sides use the passenger side shafts. no need for custom shafts and spares will fit either side. if you have the skills it can be a do it yourself operation. read super cheap! doing this will get you in the width range you want.

You could find a wrecked UTV and use the axles but if you are going to be putting any sort of power to them under a heavier "buggy" they probably won't hold up.

They have these things called side-x-sides. They are about 50" or less wide. Why reinvent the wheel?

My 1986 Honda TRX350 already has solid axles front and rear. They're mounted on swing arms, but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about linking it. It would require some fabrication, but would be possible.
