Eccotemp L5 Outdoor Shower kit Cost $130 with shipping
Misc. fittings and such $35

Installed Bulkhead fitting into front wall of camper. Then used T and pex to get from camper plumbing up to bulkhead fitting. Then to exterior valve.

Stock pump was 45 psi max diaphram pump. I was worried about this because optimum shower pressure was suppose to be 40-60 psi. To try and keep pressure higher I used washing machine hose to get from the valve outside camper to the kit.

Put LP tank in milk crate and strapped to front corner of trailer.

Shower head holder is bolted on, but the rest of the kit comes down for transport. Take water supply loose from the kit and LP loose from the tank.

For privacy we used 2 fullsize heavy shower curtains. 16 1.5"x1" magnets and 5 pieces of .75" conduit. Started with one curtain on drivers side with top of curtain on Ibeam above the tool box on trailer, used magnets and went forward and then across under spare tire and ended up at the cross brace of tire holder. Then took other from other side and did the same. To keep curtains from blowing I had the wife sew a 1.5" seam in the bottom of the curtains and we slide a longer piece of conduit into the sides (front to back) and shorter into the front (side to side) of the curtain.

The only downfall we found on vacation to the Rockies was that gravel from the campground pad/driveway splashed up on ankles. Nothing 2 Dodge floormats couldn't solve. We will look for welcome mat or something else for next trip. All in all it works great and the wife and daughter don't mind using it. Holding tank in camper is 22.5 gallons. We (3) each got 2 showers out of on tank. One morning it was cold and I stayed under the water for a little longer that I should have.

No inside shower, this is to get the big stuff off and the final touches.

I Have been planning on getting one of those. Sounds like you are happy with it. Any more details on how well it works?? does it get hot enough?? Is it true that the flame stops when the water stops (a good thing). Where did you get it??

Thx Dan, pallet would be a real hassel. I also got to thinking about how your not suppose to just dump grey water on the ground out of camper. Would this be considered grey and do you all think I would ever catch any slack. Maybe get a large rubbermaid not to deep container to stand in and then dump in the darkness of night.

It got scalding hot here in Oklahoma. Took it up to about 9900' above SL and it still got hot enough to shower in but not as hot. Flame starts and stops on demand and the only downfall to this is there is some cold water until start up of heater (aprox 3-4 sec.) Had the name typed wrong in original post it is changed now. I got mine from Products that Save site.

Ok, now we need pics of wife demonstrating use... :flipoff2:

I suppose that depends on how anal the person is that you're dealing with. I can see certain places getting pissy about a puddle of soap suds and such.

They make special "camp soap" and "camp shampoo" that is supposed to be eviromentally friendly and biodegradable. That might buy you some slack, but I would say a lot of it would depend on just where you are and who it is doing the hassling. Get a hairy-legged, granola munchin' female ranger and you're probably screwed. :flipoff2:

Ya may just get a bar of that soap and bottle of the shampoo to keep with us. If we get hassled we can say we're going green and using the good stuff.

this is some great soap, and it is totally 'greenie approved'. the crunchies have been using it for years.

when i was a kid, it was one of the only soaps i could take with me up into the boundary waters of northern minnesota.

I just ordered one, your place was cheaper than the one I posted last month. I was planning on permantly mounting it to the back of my camper, hopefully it will be ok. Can't wait to have hot showers in the dez.

Ya I used the code and had it rush shipped so it could make the trip out west. Let us know how your mounting works out.

I use that here at the house. Good stuff and you can get it at Target. And if you get one of the "foaming" handsoap containers, I've found that a mix of 4 parts Dr. Bronners to six parts distilled water and brought to a boil (it seems to separate otherwise) makes a good working solution and makes it last longer.

My personal favorite is 2 parts eucalyptus, 2 parts peppermint, and six parts water. But not a good face soap - tends to be a bit much for around the eyes.
