Sometimes it happens I get baffled.
Here is the problem my right turn signal will not kick off The left one works perfectly. I installed a new turn signal switch, and a new turn signal cam.
I installed the cam tube in the L shape hole in the retainer . remember there is only one hole for the cam tube in the steering wheel.
What have I over looked?

Might be the switch? If the cancel cam (which you have pictured) works for the left side then maybe the tab on the switch that it hits for the right signal is broken? EDIT: Sorry, didn't see that you replaced the switch....
If you turn the wheel all the way to lock and then turn it all the way to the other lock, does it cancel? Might be a positioning problem.

I'm thinking that I may have to disconnect the steering from the gearbox. Because the switch is bran new also.

The retaining plate that holds the turn signal cam. Is splined keyed to go on only one way. The steering wheel only has one hole for the spring tube in the turn signal cam for the horn to make contact. Everything else to include the horn works perfectly. It's driving me nuts.

Check for a short along the harness. It's possible your ground wire may be fried.
Did you try taking a test light and checking further up the wire? Follow it up, see if it losses power along the way. Work from the tail-lamp on up, if there is no current, then rip open the harness and chck out the wires. That's where you start.

EEERR It's not a wiring problem its a mechanical impact problem.:shaking: After I make a turn the turn signal is still blinking because the cam did not kick it out.

Did you make any progress on this? I'm interested to know what you find out.

Every time something like this has happened to me it was because I had the steering wheel not completely centered. If everything is new and it is a mechanical problem, that is the only thing I could think would be wrong. ???

Is this for a CJ column? When I did mine, I noticed there are some slight differences between the stock cam and some of the different replacements out there. I got my replacement at a Chevy dealer, and other than the horn brush/contact, it worked just fine.
I'm guessing either the cam isn't exactly correct, or something broke or got installed wrong on the reassembly.
