Well I am back. I have many more pics then this, but this is what I have for posting. I have about 10 Megs zipped together. Those wanting all the pics make sure your email can handle a 10 Meg attachment (most won’t) and let me know.

Well the trip started off not to bad off schedule, but the Gatekeeper was interesting with all the Suki Stuff getting thru it.

Took a little longer then normal to get to Spider, but a great camp out and time with common interest friends. Got a good look at the unusual rig the Suki X-90 (Pics Posted) I wouldn't mind building up one of these for a commute car as I live in the snow line.

Unfortunately I was not able to make it past Spider as my starter decided to burn up.. Sat Morn I took it apart and all the windings were melted into one black blob. So I stayed behind waiting for my replacement that didn't show up until after 8pm Sat. Night. Sunday replaced and headed out the Loon way.

So it will be up to someone else from the CalMini group to finish my story…

Enjoy the Pics and looking forward to next year’s event

Thanks to Steve (the promoter) Eric (from Zukiworld) and TommyJ (trail leader)

Damn, and I thought my rig was overloaded when I went! Wheelin with a full load of gear really adds to the pucker factor.

The starter I was hoping would have showed by 4pm Sat, then off to the Springs to finish the CalMini Run. But it showed up to late and it was bad also. Made a rotten one out of 2 just to get out Sunday.

For those wanting the complete set of Pics including Tim Hardy in the box try this link. Well at leaast upto the Sluice Box. I tried to de-bug it and it should work for all. When you click on it you should receive a zip file called "calmini.zip"

You let a STARTER keep you out of the run? Well, OK. I should make it next year!

The X90 looks nice.

Can't believe the dude made it in with only what would fit in his trunk. I had to drag a trailer in for our run..... of course I was packing food for 80 people.

Still though.... the guy must be a master of packing light.

Pic of this Toyota is located in the calmini.zip file

The Yellow Toyota tried to do a Sammy line and got stuck... Broke his front driveline to start. His buddies decided to pull him off his rock. He was/is a shackle reversal and when they pulled him off backwards it stretched out the shackles and put too much pressure on the front half of the leaves and folded them over like Sammy Body metal...

Oh what a repair that is going to be.....

Hmm lets see... It is 4pm Sunday between the Bowl and Ellis Creek. Need to get to town (or better camp out to protect my stuff maybe) Oh get to town. First thing Monday AM is to locate and pickup replacement pair of front leafs, From what ever the donor vehicle was, Then get my front drive line repaired in a day, Then get back up there before my rig gets stripped and ticketed for an abandoned vehicle blocking the way. Oh do not forget about being to work on time Monday Morn.....

No problem lets get going...

I only hope/dream/nightmare of never having to make those decisions

Good Luck to whom ever you are/were

Finding the axle and back to the trail took about 4 hours. Fixing it took about 15 minutes. Gotta love those driver's side axles and how easy they are to change.

I blame it on pilot error. I'm so used to running 35" tires on a Samurai and not having to look too hard at the trail.... I just didn't pay attention at the Pinch in the 30" shod X90. Rest of the trip was awesome though. No troubles. I even ended up towing a guy a good ways into Spider when he snapped a rear axle.

It was a great run, but a long drive home. Got tired of of hearing "Barbie Jeep" from Steve, but running 235's on the X90 sort of deserved it! The only damage was to the passenger side door when it "leaned" a little to far on Sunday. Sorry we missed you, it was a hell of a weekend, especailly the evening spent at Buck Island .:p

Gotta give props where props are due....taking an x-90 with LS's and 235 bfg at's through the Con was about killer, and taking a few hard lines show's driving skill....as far as packing, I believe there was a 4 door kick that held the gear....
The people who brought in Foor, Cookers, etc packed for well over 100 people I have a feeling as we didn't even dent the food supplies Saturday night.....we did dent the boo's though...
