Don't know if she is a wife or girlfriend, but he either trains them right or just lucked out with her. How many of you guys wish your other half would fix your rig, and look good doing it?? I do not think she even got dirty?

This guy busted up his front end pretty good in the box and had to be yanked out on 3 legs. (Welding, Banging, Cussing involved)

I overheard her frustration saying to him (You do not understand I HAVE TO be at work in SoCal Monday Morning no exceptions)

Wait a minute a thought just occured to me? Did he bring her for repairs? Or did she pick him cuz she needed a project?? hmmm think about it??

How about you just drive and leave the repairs to me Dear...

Yeah, women like that are kewl.

My wife cleans my fish and birds that I bring home from huntin and fishin.

She helped me gut and clean my last deer and wants to learn how to weld so she can help me with my truck.

Yeah... great chick! I was so happy the first time my S/O pulled winch cable for me...

Am I the only one slightly concerned about that hi-lift angle?

I don't think there's such a thing as a "good hi-lift angle". Great tool, but almost always scary:eek:

i think the rock on the lower left corner is underneath the front axle holding it up.

my wife surprises me once in a while, but i can't imagine her fixing the vehicle for me.

she's pulled strap before, but she generally likes gabbing with the other girls while us guys are busy breakin our junk.

Yep, that about sums it up.

Hi-lifts scare the hell out of me. I always make sure the "fall-line" is clear and get the damn thing off the jack pronto

Ha, Hi-Lifts. A great tool for a great many things, changing a tire is NOT one of them.

Thats my truck and wife;) she is a good one. The truck made it back down to so cal with no problems.

P.S. the jack is just sitting there waiting to put the tire on the diff is sitting down on a rock the truck was very stable.

Hi-lifts are the tool of Satan . It doesn't even matter how straight you have it, you always have that "I'm about to get crushed to death" sensation.

Well my girl isn't quite up to fixin the rig yet, but she did ride in my rig at 50mph, when it was 40 degrees out and raining, with no doors, roof or rear wheelwells. Gettin to the con soaking wet and freezing, and not complaining about it, has to account for something.

my girlfriend helped me pull the tranny and x cases at the base of dump bump when the clutch took a poop on our maob trip. we didnt have a jack so she got on all fours and held it on her back as i tried to line the shaft into the clutch and start the bolts......

then she rolled over, handed me a cold beer, hiked up her legs....:flipoff2:

My wife won't wrench, she prefers to hand them to me.
She'll pull cable and spot though.
She makes me laugh when we see a Jeep all jacked up with 35's, lots of chrome, fresh wax and stock diffs, and she calls them posers.

Did you guys have fun? I wish I was there. I'm going back to Seattle tonight. My Zuk is being worked on, hopefully it'll be done before the Hammers next weekend. Are you gonna be there? Me and Jen might be lookin for a ride though. Sorry I couldn't make it to the Con.

Heh... my wife will pull cable, spot and repair when/what she knows how to. She's also smaller than most so she can fit her hands and body under the rig without a jack...
When the kids are scared of a line, she gets out and hikes the trail.
Been five years and love her more everyday. She thinks wrenching is fun.

Chain the axle to the frame and then you only have to lift a couple inches instead of a couple feet. Much more stable then.

My wife brings me beer :) Sometimes she brings the kids out to the shop so they remember what I look like. She has helped me drop engines in my Supra by running the hoist. Had her and my oldest cleaning cylinder heads from the 350 in her K5 when it blew a head gasket. I think she decided not to ask if there was anything she could help with after that LOL. That's about it for wrench time. My oldest girl (10) fetches wrenches and beer pretty good.
My wife only get out of the truck on trails for three things.
Lunch
Camp or home
Piss.
If were not moving she reading a book waiting to go again.
She's too skinny (5ft 90lb and no I'm not complaining, she's pretty good looking lass ) to pull cable. I guess I need to find some cash and get some rope from Scott :) Maybe I could coax her into pulling that. Oldest is just like here mom and too skinny to pull cable.

My wife is that evil little voice saying "don't be a pussy! That Samurai behind us could do it!" She is responsible for most of our rollovers, and afterwards, while we're hanging there upside down by the RCI's, she'll say..."maybe we shouldn't have done that, what were you thinking?"

Yeah, my theory is: "get 'em young or get 'em dumb, and they'll do what you want"

Ahm, Jen and Krista (Randy's wife) are the only two that my theory doesn't apply to. They are extremely smart and of legal age, plus they are beautiful! THEY WERE NOT TRAINED, they were not trained...;)

My girl just bought a $200 "project" heep. Of course, I'll be doing all the work while she hands beer and wrenches but I can deal with that. She has learned how to weld though  Now it's time to get her to start bendin tube. She did kick in on part of the bender for my b-day present- Now that's a good woman for ya ;)

After 11 years it really hit me that I had the right one when she bitched me out for buying a new chop saw and sawzall, then the next day while working on a project (and using both of them for the first time unsupervised) said: "those saws are the SH!T!". I was pretty sure when she had helped me do the first lift on the rangie and re-bush the entire truck at the same time. If you have ever changed 10 year old bushings in a land rover you know what a pain that is. There is just something down right sexy about your wife in coveralls and a air-gun in her hand.....

Sounds like mine :D She's normally the one sinking the Patrol while I'm the one for flipping and rolling it :D
She's all for wheeling and even jumps in the deepest mud to pull cable. In November we start for the El Chott Sahara Rallye together (http://www.offroad-events.org/el_chott_english.html)

my gf would rather i be out pulling cable or spotting while she drives. :flipoff2:

of course now that she has the bug, she wants her own rig. the problem is that she makes 3x as much cash as me, so her rig will kick my ass.
