There is a hunt in October in Remington VA.
This is a "tree dog" event. During the day they will have a squirrel hunt (field trial, not actually shooting the squirrels), after the hunt they have a treeing contest, and at night they will have a coon hunt (same rules, not actually shooting the coon).

I particularly don't like WTDA scoring system, but it is fun to go along and see the dogs work, meet cool people, and see some different types of dogs.

This post is from another board;
Old Dominion Squirrel and Coon club is having its first annual Battle in the Blue Ridge squirrel hunt on Oct. 17th. This is a W.T.D.A hunt bench show and treeing contest and is beeing held at Shadey Grove Kennel , Sporting Clays and Hunting Preserve . The address is 11986 Lucky Hill Rd.Remington Va.22734. There is also lodgeing available on site for $50. a night with access to the kennel that's just out the back door. Any questions please call 540-219-3698. I hope some of yall can make it ! Thanks in advance.

That actually sounds interesting. I squirrel hunt, and have been curious about squirrel dogs for a while. I am in Blacksburg, so it's not that far away. Might have to check it out.
