Okay, after having a small gathering at my rockdown my zuk NEEDS TO GET FINISHED. I'm putting yota axles on it and I'm planning on doing the rear disc swap on the rear (the monte caliper one). Is the stock Zuk MC strong enough to push these things?

I've heard yes, but not really convinced. A firebird MC is suppose to be better and almost bolt in. I am doing the same install right now. For your info, it looks like Tracker E-brake cables are gonna work perfect with those calipers. They hook up perfect at the caliper and looks like if you use the Tracker E-brake handle it would be an easy modification. I havent gotten that far yet but it looks like it will work.

The Firebird MC was first used on our Zukinni Samurai. We searched around quite a bit and found that an early 80's Firebird MC pumped plenty of fluid for our F/R Cadillac disc brakes on the D44 axles. Watch out thogh, there's two styles. I believe the one we used was a 1 1/8" bore. the 1 1/4" bore mounts to a tilted firewall and so won't bolt up to the Samurai.
The innards all line up great. I only had to rattail file the two mounting holes very slightly for a complete bolton setup. Allowed me to get 1st place in the braking competition the year we were at Top Truck challenge. Works great now for 35" Swampers and a quick stop.

the brake lines dont happen to just screw into the Firebird MC do they? I see there is a 4-wheel disc brake MC, what about that one

Its been about 6 or 7 years since I did that modification. Seems to me though that it was an 81 Firebird that worked correctly. Save your receipt in case I'm off.....
A larger MC would do nothing for a stock brake system. The reason behind the larger MC is that you have a braking system that requires more fluid displacement than the stock 7/8" Samurai. With the need for more fluid displacement, but without the larger MC, you have weak braking. Simply increasing the fluid movement capacity of your stock brake system doesn't increase its strength though.

moto261 there is a balance you have to maintain between cylinder sizes, small MC to large wheel cyl gives you a increase in power, but along pedal and vice versa.........:D that's how I remember it
