Ok guys tell me why I shouldn’t do this. I have a 78/79 F-250 with Dana 60’s front and rear and a 47 Flatty kit body one a rolling frame. So my thing is I want to put that body on my F-250 frame with about 90” to 100” wheel base and stretch the tub to fit at least 2 CJ bench seats in the rear as we have a family of 5. My buddys are telling me that I am nuts which I wont say that there wrong. Has any one done this as I want this to be kind of a street legal ride.

And to keep it not as wide I was thinking of running stock h-1 rims to keep the military feel to the rig plus with there offset it will set the rim back close to the body and run some thing like 37’s to 40’s

So what do you guys think? Build my own frame and put every thing over on it I would but why would I want to take a running driving rig apart just to build a different one with the same parts?

Ok so you say it will look retarded ok but really with all these guy that cut there frame and stretch there frames 10 to 20 inches really how odd would it look. Here is my game plan if I would do this stretch the door opening 6 inches and then add 6 to 10 inches to the rear. So it would be stretch with out looking to off.

i am not a 100% sure if i want to widen it or just leave it here is a pic of my body as you can see it would be way easy to chop and stretch the body out and use flat steel as replacement panels.

Here is where I am thinking about chopping the tub i don’t think i am going to use a extra tub to stretch it just like what the has done above.

The Fords wide frame and completly wrong contour is what is gonna make it look retarded. Build a custom frame and fit all the Fords good components to it

thanks guys

I think you’re a right just wanted some more input on this. I think what i am going to do is stretch the frame and body run and run a 4.0 with an AW4/231 t-case with a 44/9 and call it good. I have all the parts lying around other than the 9". So what wheel base should I go for? I am right now at 83” or right around there so I am thinking 90” or so. Do you think i can still get 2 cj bench seats in the rear?
