What do you know about it? Just picked up an Astra 400 for something new to play with. I know the shit is hard to find. Anyone with experience with it? Where do you get it from? Anybody reload it?

How does 9mm Largo compare to 9x23 winchester?

9 largo is a cool round. I have a old Star super chambered in it. You can find and buy bulk surplus. i got 1K from Sarco a year or so back. I also got new brass and load for it but damned if I can remember where the brass came from.


I could try to send you a couple hundred rounds if you wanted.

A lot of 9 largo info can be found searching around for Star Modelo Super information.

9x23 Winchester is a 50k psi cartridge.
9mm Largo does not have a pressure specification, but it is definitely lower.
Largo brass is a tad longer IIRC.

Starline sells/sold Largo brass. 9x19 dies should work for reloading.

I use 9 para dies to load it and run it fairly light, 115 grn hp and FMJ.

Have fun with it, overall my impression of the round it it is recoil negative, fairly fast according to the charts and pretty damn accurate to boot. Get yourself a Destroyer to hang out with your Astra. :D
