just picked up a 95 f350 crewcab has a 460 and 5 speed manual trans im going to take out the motor and rebuild it never messed with fords tho. was wondering if i can just unbolt it from the trans and slide the motor foward..or and im i going to have to remove the trans first?
thanks
You can unbolt it and remove it without removing the trans. Just put a jack under the trans and lift it as you lift the motor. Once the motor mount bolts clear the crossmember, slide the motor forward off the torque convertor studs. If you take off the upper intake, you might be able to squeeze it out without even removing the hood, but it will be real tight.

I just had my brother swap the engines in my 93 F350 dually thats a 460/5 speed, it is fairly easy, just pull the hood off, it makes it alot easier.....
