Well i just got done swapping out my 4" cj springs for some stock yj springs on my 86 cj7. While i was swapping them out i went ahead and did a spring over while i was at it. Right now i don't have any shocks hooked up but when i bounce the front and rear end up and down it doesn't look like the shackles are moving. It mainly looks like the springs are bending. Is this something that is normal when doing this type of swap? I don't know if hooking the shocks back up would help out or not. Ran out of time tonight to reinstall them. Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Ben
maybe you torqued the shackle bolts too tight

How tight should i torque them to? I know they need to be tight but don't want them to loose do it?

If your springs are basically flat with weight on them, your shackles really won't move much by just bouncing it up and down. You should have steel sleeves in your spring bushings, and your shackle bolts should be tightened tight once you have weight on the springs.
Travis..

some say 55 ft/lb, some say 25 ft/lb with nyloc nuts, some say 90ft/lb...

x2 my yj fronts dont move the shackle much on compression... only see them move with alot of droop
