Wow, that's an original paintjob, complete with the strange stripe down the side?
I love datsuns and think this will be a great wheeler. Kind of sad to see the sami get parted out though.
My datsun had a super weak tranny so i hope yours holds up okay.

So are you just bolting in the stock 4x4 transfer case? It's pretty strong, and will hold up if you're using the stock motor(actually, I've seen them hold up to V8's).
The NAPS-Z motor isn't the greatest, but if you aren't going to smog it, you can run an L- head from the 75 - 80 L20 motors and bump the compression a bit. Plus it gets rid of the smog ports and a lot of the vacuum lines over the top of the motor.
I've got a 75 620 on 36's with a 5 speed tranny out of an 81 720 and haven't had any transmission issues yet, just maintain it well.

Yeah i plan on fabbin up some mounts and bolt it right in. i have 2 cases to choose from on that is stock and one that is geared at 6.5:1. i think i will do the stock one first i would have to break the one that is geared. I am keepin it smog legal but the motor will be a big step up from a 1.3L sami
