I need a beater Series truck with title (and VIN plates). Any condition, running or not but must be pre-68. Actually don't need the truck - just the above mentioned stuff (clean title/VIN plates/License plates). I have another project that needs a starting point.

Thanks,

Billster

ps. I would post this to the wanted list, but noone there would know what I was talking about, and I never look there anyway. So with your permission Old Scout, I would like to keep it here for a bit.

Too bad you need the license plates.

I might be able to start asking for you though.

Does it matter what state it comes from? This one is from CO.

Sorry if this is almost as bad as posting the blurry pic of the panhard rod.

Hey gas passer,

Do a search for a rover place in Montana. They have several rolling chassis, and others that might have what you need.

I wish that I could remember their name. I want to say Big Sky or something like that. I know he has a series bone yard, so he might have a beater that's clean.

Here is a tip. Find a VIN number not in use (find one you know is wrecked) and then buy a plate from BP for $20 and have it stamped. Apply for a lost title, ta da! Series title :)

Call James Fredrickson...PM me for his number...He's got a SIII title and plate...He bought it for $500...For the same reason (I think) you do.

I've thought about doing something along that line also...but a bit different.

I picked up a 89 wrecked RR for REAL cheap with title, tag and all the vins (of coarse) And because no DMV can tell the difference between a RR, Series I, Series IIa, Series III, Defender 90/110 or FC for that matter (It is all just British POS to them...hurry up and get you out the door so they can finish watching Judge Judy....) Im going to use the RR stuff.....

Anyways maybe find a wrecked RR..........

Good idea on the RR, but will not work for my very specific purpose. As it has to be at least '67 or older model.

What would be even more evil is just to get a VIN off a truck registered in Canada or the UK, even if it is one piece no one cross references anything. I have a canadian title to a 59 SII if you are interested. REAL cheap.
