: Need a rimfire supressor
Drunk tank 08-20-2009, 06:02 AM Well gents.... I need a supressor for my urban backyard hunting adventures. Mainly this will be used on my 10/22 but would love to be able to swap it over onto a .17HMR. Are there any surpressors that can do that? Also... anything thing out there for rimfires with a QR? I thought I saw a thread a long time ago about these same questions but couldnt find anything with the search
Thanks gents. :grinpimp:
muddawg95yj 08-20-2009, 06:05 AM The SWR's that Schmo had at the OSR shoot were impressive. They say are rated for .17HMR also. http://www.swrmfg.com/ProductDetails.asp?ID=22

come on, I have a thread with detailed instructions and designs. :flipoff2:
and if you make your baffle stack out of steel it should handle HMR no problems.
But if you want to buy I would look at Yankee Hill Machine. They make a QD 22lr. The most bang for your buck would be get a 5.56 QD and run it on your AR (you do have one right? :flipoff2: ) your 22lr and your HMR. get a cheap ultrasonic cleaner from HF to keep the buildup shit off when running 22lr as it will get nast after a bit.
AlohaRover is a YHM seller, I got my YHM QD 7.62 from him and could not be more than happy.
I have run my 7.62 can with 22lr and its quiet but not as quiet as my dedicated 22lr can.
Vermin 08-20-2009, 06:10 AM Yankee Hill has some nice QD mounts / cans. But my next rimfire can will be one of these.. no questions asked.

This is the coolest one out there. I have heard one and it is QUIET. I love how the outer shells make it super easy to tear down when it's dirty.
FlexCJ5 08-20-2009, 07:43 AM I gotta say tht the SWR's are better constructed and quieter than any of the YHM's I have fired. You can also take them apart for a fairly easy cleaning. They do cost more though.
aloharover 08-20-2009, 09:20 AM I carry YHM, AAC, Silencerco, and SWR as well as making my own .22lr.
The YHM Mite is a .22lr that can be disassembled for cleaning and it uses a pretty nice QD system.
It's 1/2x28 and then you can get different adapters.
Docs idea will work, but....
I have mounted my .223 Phantom onto my P22 and its... well very unwieldy. Super front heavy, can't see the sights, almost impractical.

Or make one with a couple rubber plugs, steel rod and a flashlight :D

I put my Tac-16 on my smith 22a before. While it's super quiet, and I can beat down a brick wall with it, it's not exactly useful.

I've got a Tac-16 too. Fucking thing is heavier than just about any of the guns I could put it on.
Schmozilla 08-21-2009, 08:32 AM I like SWR suppressors :D It has nothing to do with the fact that they are 15 mins down the road from me.
4runner 08-21-2009, 09:18 AM I think my TAC65 was slightly smaller than the swrs that schmo had...pretty close to same sound level, just a different pitch.
NEWMANS OWN 08-21-2009, 12:34 PM why would we make one they are illegal to make right? you can't have dibs on mine"guns/ammo".lol

not illegal to make, you just have to give the ATF the money for the tax stamp and fill out all of the proper paperwork.

I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic. At least I thought so. It's been discussed more than enough here.
