95steel 08-20-2009, 10:42 AM So everyone sits around the grill, when its done you just spin the shit out of it and everyone tries to catch thier meal while holding a bun like a catchers mitt?
I like it!!!
Greatlakeoffroad 08-20-2009, 10:43 AM Yep and you can try that naked for an even more exciting twist!
aloharover 08-20-2009, 10:55 AM Pretty Damn Cool.
make the grill rectangular and it can do double duty as a radiator grill. Also helps with storage/space issues :D
Greatlakeoffroad 08-20-2009, 11:10 AM Yeah but burning the bugs off before you use it would kinda suck!
Doc Holiday13 08-20-2009, 11:50 AM Smart, but I personally don't have a need for that. I usually use the old stick method or make a quick grill out of sticks
usmcdoc14 08-20-2009, 12:18 PM I like it. You just need to make it with a metal "pit" as an option that is just big enough and deep enough to store it all in for those areas where we are not allowed "open fires"

Be easy enough to chop the ass end off of a metal drum and make this collapse into that part. I like the concept.

They rust too quick and easy. 3/16" steel base, welded on ring sides with small drain/vent notches cut where they join. maybe even cut out a couple handle "slots"
I would offer it as an "upgradde"

cmarjeep 08-21-2009, 03:07 AM That would catch the forest on fire up here in about 2.3 seconds.
Needs a pit for the briquettes and then it would be a nice little bbq.
Greatlakeoffroad 08-21-2009, 09:25 AM We are working on that option right now, per your suggestion. I will have a sample of that and a definite price early next week. Thanks for everyones feedback we really appreciate it. Shawn

LiLBucket 08-21-2009, 10:51 AM I like it....
It's EXACTLY what I need over my firepit. I'd need some legs about 48" dia that would span the opening (42").''
Good luck with it, nice work!
txapacheguy 08-21-2009, 03:38 PM If you are going to stick with a round design, and this product is oriented towards the offroad community, then it would probably not be too hard for you to incorporate an optional bracket into the kit to bolt or strap it to a spare tire outside your rig for transportation... That might interest some folks who are space limited or do not want a grill in the back of their rig.

Greatlakeoffroad 08-21-2009, 05:10 PM Lets see, no job available but maybe some free swag for review.
A) He has good upgrade suggestions
B) He does very thorough reviews
C) He does excellent write ups
D) He always has ammo available for trades (not sure why that belongs in here)
E) We have a new product and could use some press
F) His opinions are worth their weight in gold....... to most of us anyhow
That last one put you over the top, let me see what we can do!:smokin:

That's a really good idea. You could make it so the grill spins down and fits inside the pit, make sure you've got a bottom and once it's cool you can pick the entire thing up with the mess contained inside.

let me at least do some idea design
(if you need a drawing just ask)
all-thread can either screw into the bottom or fit in a socket. I would do socket as you can then make it high enough to run 4 gussets off it for lateral stability and you don't have to worry about it rusting/binding together. And the "grill" would still be adjustable.
The base should have a sidewall of say 4-5", there should be 2 oval holes big enough for gloved hands to fit in on either side.
for storage I would have 2 more holes that are big enough for the all thread to fit through, one with a nut welded to the outside of the ring. It will have to be off-set to take into account for the socket/nut in the middle. The grill should have corresponding holes but slightly larger to take into warpage with age. Include a big wing nut or weld a "wing" onto the all-thread. drop grill into base, put all-thread through base and grill, tighten and it is all together.
Flat and looking like a lollipop if you get my idea.
