I have an opportunity to trade this dude his 36" m/t (bias) for my 33" m/t (radial) - sounds like a good deal right well here is the kicker. I have an 30/20 setup on my cj5. If i were to truss the 20 and weld the tubes and put a single axle in it would it hold up ok. FYI - will probably use the rig mostly to do some novice level wheeling as well as use it to cut around town in.

The AMC 20 will be fine for moderate wheeling with smart driving, the 30 will be fine for mall crawling and not much more (even with chromo shafts,) you WILL need to regear, and you do NOT want a bias ply tire for "cutting around town."

Might be alot to throw on that 2 piece shaft in the 20. And like was previously said, the 30 will not hold up to those stock, or with chromos for that matter.

My apology for the outburst! First of all I wasn't necessarily talking about the post I put up this morning - it was more of an "in-general" comment". I mean go look at the reply counts, some people that posted days/months ago still havent gotten any replies, then go see if you can find any in the hardcore section that dont have replies.
