Picked up one of these http://www.anvilfire.com/21centbs/forges/lever01.htm in good shape, just needs a belt. Looking at McMaster-Carr and they want $40 for 6' of 1/2" belt and alligator laces. I am guessing someone here can point met to a place that has them cheaper than that. Googling brings me up a lot of links to belts for my pants, but nothing for equipment...

TIA

Thought about it, but the blower would have to be disassembled to install a premade belt. Need something I can cut to length and install w/lacing or similar.

Can't really tell from the picture you linked if this would work or not: http://www.woodcraft.com/Family/2020051/2020051.aspx

You can buy it by the foot and snap together/apart links as you need.

how long does it need to be? Maybe just a long strip of leather?

X2 the link belt would be worth a shot and easy to adjust length, and they are 1/2" wide.

DRM or maybe PTshram? had a post awhile back about repairing the leather belt on an old lathe.

Tractor Supply or other ag stores have the crimper tools for lacing conveyor belts, that might be an option as well.

Those are on my list as possibilities. Don't know how they handle high heat since they are in fairly close proximity to the burning coal. I do like them on my bandsaw!
