Hey guys I guess I'm now thinking of Dana 44's for my Samurai. Does anyone know who the cheapest custom Dana 44 manufacturer is? I'd like to stay under $6000 for both axles with disc brakes everywhere, a full float rear, ARB air lockers in both and hi-steer.

If this is expecting too much for too little money, let me know and I guess I'll have to reconsider. Thanks for the help!

I think Dynatrac does the 44's for pretty cheap, You might be able to do it for 6k.

why not just go find a set of late 70's wagoneer axles? they come with waggy dana44's and the rear is offset to match the sami t-case. it seems to me you would save alot of $$$ doing it this way and spare shafts would be easy to get for it also. with the $$$ you save ou can cet alloy shafts and ctm's for it too. anyway...

I have a 41 housing that will accept a 44 carrier , it is offset and narrow already. Then all you would have to is get a front 44 narrowed .I was going to put it under my sammi but I just stuck with the stock axles for now .

Call Bradley Williams at Maxles Engineering-(605)381-3854. They do all kinds of custom jobbers. They did all the narrowing on my 60's. Their specialty is Dana 50 stuff in 44 housings(standard or high pinion) with 60 outers. All the clearance and less weight than full-on 60's, with the strength of a 60. The only down side is your choices of locking differentials. You're left with the 35 spline OX locker, an ARB, or a Lock-rite. I'm not sure if they found spools for the Dana 50s or not. Call him, super nice-tell him Cody told ya' to call.
